Prohibited Processing Methods
Certain industrial processing techniques are not permitted, including high-heat extrusion and other methods that significantly alter food structure and nutritional value. Knowledge of all processing methods used is required for product and ingredient evaluation.

Request Verification

Audit
Our technical staff collects and conducts a comprehensive review of your formulations, ingredient sourcing, and processing details. We may request supplementary documentation or ingredient specifications to verify compliance with the Non-UPF Standard criteria. All audits are conducted virtually initially.

We prepare a report detailing the outcome of the audit. If any nonconformities are identified, SCS can advise on corrective actions required before verification can be completed.

Verification
Once your products successfully meet all Non-UPF requirements, you are issued a certificate of compliance valid for one year and are permitted to use the "Non-UPF Verified" seal on product packaging per the Non-UPF Standard’s licensing agreement.

Renewal
Annual evaluation is required to maintain Non-UPF Verified status.
